Splash issue on LogIn and Shutdown/Reboot

Need help here for an issue I don't know why it started and I can't figure it out and hope someone has had the issue and fixed. The issue is just after Logging in the Splash, after it gets to the KDE Icon, goes split screen on me. Afterwards I get a nice normal Desktop. All appear OK no issues. Then when I go to the start menu or even select it from a right click on the desktop, the shutdown splash does not show. The screen darkens as if it is shown and if I press enter as I would if it was visible it performs as it should. So, Splash Split screen and invisible Exit screens. Anyone?

Well, it was driving me up the wall so I did what I normally do when issues as such appear. I renamed the ~/.kde folder and rebooted to recreate that folder. Other than having to reconfigure and copy over important parts of .kde over to the new one all is well. I just wish I knew where and what configuration file that controls that is getting corrupted and why!! Anyway, solved for now.
