KDE updates [4.13.2, Plasma 4.11.10]?

I transitioned from LMDE to Kubuntu recently, after I confirmed for myself that KDE 4.13 indeed ran better on the netbook on which I do a lot of my Linux stuff than the 4.11.x release on which LMDE is still stuck ... and observing that updates to various other components including the kernel are pushed more frequently than Mint does. After experimenting with (semi)rolling releases, I can appreciate an LTS release that gets frequent updates (and hopefully can "evolve" transparently into the next LTS release when time comes), esp. as I usually rebuild my kernel to tune it to my hardware (and include the Con Kolivas patches ).

I do wonder however why KDE itself is still at 4.13.0 while 2 monthly bugfix releases have already been published. Is there a timeline for KDE updates to appear in Trusty/stable, or should I add an update channel if I don't want to wait for Kubuntu 15 in order to get an update to my desktop environment?

So what exactly does this mean, that it's not possible to track a "channel" with newer KDE releases AND keep tracking 14.04 LTS?
As in

The user can enable the Kubuntu Updates PPA and get the latest updates

And drift away from 14.04LTS? "Kubuntu Updates" seems more general than something like OpenSUSE's KDE Current repo?

What's the "SRU tracking bug"? The page reads more like a list of proposed (and accepted) additions?

OK, so I followed the instructions on the EnableProposed wiki page. On Kubuntu 14.04, one has to enable the pre-release software source in the Muon Package Manager's sources setting. I created a /etc/apt/preferences file as instructed, made the appropriate ZFS snapshots for easy rollback (in case that'd be needed).
Contrary to what I expected, apt-get -s dist-upgrade still showed me a bunch of updates, but also announced that kmail would be removed. An apt-get install kmail/trusty-proposed behaved as if I had given the -s flag (I had not), so I unticked the pre-release source in Muon again.

And then it turned out that the 4.13.1 update had been pushed to the stable release tree.
(Muon's update notifier called that 2 updated packages, of which 5 were updated for security reasons ... a somewhat strange way of counting )

If your going to try complex things like that, don't trust muon and use the command line.

The software properties/sources is showing the PPA's on the 'Other Software' tab

The software sources frontend can be launched with the command:

kdesudo software-properties-kde

Exactly, I only used Muon to tweak the software sources, in order to follow the settings preconfigured by Kubuntu.
