RTL8192CE wireless turned unstable, presumably after recent kernel upgrade.

As the title says. Wireless connection using a PCI express card (Asus N15, I believe) worked like a charm for weeks. Suddenly, wireless connection turns unstable. Never lasts longer than a few minutes, after which network-manager restart or network disconnect connect is needed. Large downloads have become impossible. Posted from my windows which has no problems. The problem seems to have been rather frequent almost a year ago, and then seems to have been solved, so why does it appear again now ? Various solutions that have been suggested, don't work (e.g. turn off wireless mode N on the router), or I am not willing to try (e.g. download sources for an alternative driver, compile and install those yourself).

Currently "solved" by routing traffic through an old laptop, which has the very same Kubuntu as my main machine, but of course in the long run I want my wireless card working as it should. (Where do I go with that request ?)

I have the exact same problem. I have a USB-N13 from Asus with the RTL8192CU chipset.
