I use cable/wired network. (I guess it is called DHCP)
In 12.04 there was an option for it: enable networking

Sometimes in 12.04 when I started system I am disconnected so I unchecked and checked the option and I was automatically connected.
Now in 14.04 I can't see this option so I need to reboot.
Widget only shows active connections and when it list connection there is an option to disconnect. But in case I login to system and there is no active connection enable networking option is not visible. I just don't see in setting such option.
