Does Kubuntu have a GUI for internet connections?

After nearly three years of using Kubuntu, I still can not find a way to connect to the internet by using a GUI. Connecting to the internet for me involves pppoeconfig and occassionally hours of command line head scratching. Is there really no way to do this, or am I just really stupid?

Ive done that several times, but the connection I add doesnt show up in the widget so there is no way to connect to it. In the box called "Service," what exactly am I supposed to put? Is it important?

What is your connection to the Internet composed of? DSL modem only, or DSL modem and router, or .....?

                    At here - wired adsl

                    Default
                    (Trusty and later)

The default with the wired is to not show the wired connections.

                    Config

The 'buntu is a Debian based: https://wiki.debian.org/NetworkManager :
                    Wired Networks are Unmanaged

As of Debian 6.0 "Squeeze", NetworkManager does not manage any interface defined in /etc/network/interfaces by default...

                    Enabling Interface Management

If you want NetworkManager to handle interfaces that are enabled in /etc/network/interfaces:

                    - Set managed=true in /etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf.
                    - Restart NetworkManager

                    Restarting...
                    Code:
                    :~$ sudo service network-manager restart
                    [sudo] password for rog132:
                    network-manager stop/waiting
                    network-manager start/running, process 3306
...and the connection is there (here)...

Tried that out. It said it was connected to ifupdown, but there was no way to enter in my user name and password and I wasnt connected to the internet. I tried creating a new DSL connection but it wouldnt connect and constantly asked me for a password. My root password didnt do anything, nor did my DSL password.

Have you got network manager installed? As well as plasma-nm? With Network manager if you connect either with using wi-fi or cable network manager should be detecting it and prompting you for the password (if wi-fi). If connecting via cable to the router/modem then no password is needed and network manager should connect automatically.

I have to enter log-in details for my wired connection. My ISP gave me a username in the form of an email address and a short password. Without these, I cannot connect.

I just tried booting up with a live cd to see if I could get it going with a fresh system. No luck. I tried every option I could think of, but nothing would connect and give internet access. It would either say I was connected, but then not give internet access, repeatedly ask me for passwords and never connect, or just flat out refuse to connect.

                            What I know is:
-The ISP gave me a router
-It uses pppoe and requires CHAP identification
-The only way I can connect is with the terminal program pppoeconf which gives me internet, but I loose the ability to configure my router and wireless

The last time I had to login to connect to the internet was when I was using a dial uo modem, are you sure your using DSL not dial up? Also the ppp daemon that you seem to be using was designed for dial up modems to connect to the internet.
Also is Plasma-nm running? But then if your using dial up modem Network Manager does not support that method.
If you are using DSL I find it strange that network manager is not picking it up.

Edit: I am sure your using DSL in this day and age so it must be something to do with your ISP that needs you to authenticate your connection whenever you want to connect to their network so you have to set it up in the same way as we used to back in the dial up modem days.

2nd Edit: I've just had a look in the repository that I have access to and have found a GUI app called kdenetwork-kppp, look for something similar in your repository and try that to connect to use.
