wifi fails after sleep

I'm running Kubuntu 12.04 on a Dell Compaq box.

Have recently tried the sleep function but I get a 'wifi de-activated' message on waking also my wifi is not shown as an active connection although a nearby wireless printer is shown.

Have seen several posts but none of them recent. Changing managed=true in /etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf as suggested in several posts didn't help.

I wonder if there is a solution to this?

It's hardware and driver dependant, for sure, and this probably is not related to NetworkManager itself. This post should work for the ole Precise, but you ever know.
