    21:9 UltraWide Monitor support

    Does kubuntu/KDE support 21:9 resolution moniotrs? I just realized to my horror after ordering a brand new LG monitor that I never bothered to actually check compatibility.

    I'm using 14.04, the 3.13 series kernel, and fglrx on a hd 7870.

    Depends on your video sub-system, but @here:

    stuart@office:~$ xrandr
    Screen 0: minimum 8 x 8, current 5760 x 1080, maximum 16384 x 16384

    You didn't post the resolution of the monitor you ordered, but I think 16384 x 16384 should cover it...

      I have 3x Asus 23" monitors connected to 2x AMD 7970's in crossfire... 5760x1080 but crossfire only supports 1 of the 3 monitors at a time... I still get to use all 3 at once.

          Yeah, you'll have no problem with that. The new 34" 21:9s are 3440x1440. I'm trying to figure out how to justify one of those when the new G-Sync enable models from Asus and Acer come out this winter!

            Didn't invest in g sync/free sync. Gave the old Dell 21" to my wife, and got an LG 21:9 curved 29". 34" was to steep. The extra real estate is real nice for multiple windows. You need to sit far back though or your turning your head all the time.

              I just found this thread in a a search. I'm considering an LG 34" (3440x1440). My challenge is, I'm trying to determine if my nVidia GTX 650Ti can drive it to max res. The specs on the card cite max resolution via HDMI = 3840 x 2160 @ 30Hz and 4096 x 2160 @ 24Hz. The monitors I'm looking at are synced at 60Hz. Does that mean my card will not drive max res via HDMI because the monitor sync is too fast?

                There was an issue with older nvidia cards, don't kbow if it was fixed.

                I'm using a gtx 970 now, with the 352 drivers. No issues.
