Hello,
I am currently running Kubuntu 14.04 on a Lenovo Thinkpad X230T. According to lspci, my audio device is Intel Corporation 7 Series/C210 Series Chipset Family High Definition Audio Controller (rev 04).
I was trying to skype with a friend but he could barely hear me. I confirmed this by calling skype call testing service, and I could barely hear the test message I recorded, speaking at slightly louder than normal speech.
I opened up the audio mixer, and saw that the slider for the capture device volume was all the way at the bottom. I thought, "aha! problem solved!" and simply moved the slider all the way to the top. However, as I went back to skype to make another sound test call, right before my eyes the slider lowered itself all the way back down! I repeatedly raised the volume and watched it lower itself immediately back to near the bottom.
Can anyone tell me what is going on, and what I might do to fix this problem?
Jason
