Hi, it's my first time in this forum, and first of all I would like to thank you all for your work and help. I've got a new Brother DCP-J132W multifunction printer and I'm trying to make it work under Kubuntu 14.04.1. The printer works great by USB or Wifi, but the problem is when I want to use the scanner. If I start Xsane, it show me this error:
Failed to open device 'brother4:bus1;dev1'
Invalid argument
If I start Xsane by using sudo xsane everything works perfect, but I would like to be able to use it without root access. I've read a lot about other people with this problem, and the solution seems to get the user included in scanner group, but I've already done this.
The drivers are correctly installed (it works with sudo xsane)
So, please....what's next to try
