USB 3.0 WD Passport 2.5TB Drive Disconnects after 5 minutes
My USB 3.0 WD My Passport (0748) 2.0TB Drive Disconnects after 5 minutes drive stays connected for a about an hour or so... but, if I use it heavily, watching a movie or listening to music that is loaded on it, it only stays connected for about 5 or less minutes...
I just re-loaded Kubuntu 14.04 on my Dell Optiplex GX-620
Kernel 3.1.13.0-35-generic
KDE version 4.13.2
3.2GHz Intel Pentium D CPU
4GB RAM
>In Kinfocenter, under 'Device Information', under 'PCI'
The drive is connected through an NEC UPD720200 USB 3.0 Host Controller (PCIe card)
Under device class and sub-class it has 'Unknown (0xEF)
Most of the drives control features are disabled
Most everything under Status is disabled or no
Before I re-loaded Trusty Tahr (14.04) it would stay connected all the time... it would go to standby mode and stay connected... Now, it disappears from the system... I have to un-plug it and plug it back in, for it to show up
Does anyone have any ideas how to get this crazy thing going again
