Disable Bottom 25% Of NetBook Touchpad Input Surface?

Hi,

I recently installed Kubuntu 14.04 LTS 64Bit onto my new NetBook portable computer.
Everything works great except the NetBook's unusual touchpad (see photo below).

Is there a way to disable the bottom 25% of the NetBook's touchpad input surface?
The problem is that the touchpad's mouse surface is combined with the buttons.
(so when I try to click on something, the mouse cursor moves - annoying and need to fix this)

Any help would be appreciated, thank you!
