Problem connecting to HP Officejet 6700 Premium

Greetings,

My old USB printer died on me today so I got a new HP officejet 6700. I managed to run the HPLIP discovery and setup utility using a USB cable, but when I try to print nothing happens and my printer is "unconnected" in HPLIP.

Any thoughts?

I managed to install the printer using the printer utility in system settings but the printer did not show in the hplip device manager and the fax and scanners were not installed. Sane and Xsane did not discover the scanner neither.

I re installed the printer in hplip using the network option and the printer was recognized, installed in hplip together with fax and scanner capabilities.

What is the right way to install this printer?
