    latest LibreOffice update

After yesterday's update of LibreOffice, LibreOffice does not work any longer.
When starting LibreOffice, window shows but everything in window is frozen so I have to terminate the application.

    Everything ok here.

try to delete or rename your libreoffice dir.

    After closing libreoffice:
    mv ~/.config/libreoffice ~/.config/libreoffice.old

Same here, but only if libreoffice-kde is used.

having the particular Kubuntu release noted would be of some small help.

I'm running Saucy and have all updates and it continues to be rock stable.

Over a month ago I removed libreoffice-kde and found that the icons were smaller and the overall look was better. I have just tried installing libreoffice-kde and, as others have found, I got an empty box and no symbols but the control panel which allowed exit by terminating the package.

Over 6 months ago, I lodged a bug report regarding a brief white flash before the start of a video inserted into Libreoffice Impress. This is still present whereas the previous version had a large question mark lasting about 0.5s! Still waiting for this to be fixed.

I have the same issue. LibreOffice writer and calc do not launch completely. I was not able to launch them from Konsole either. I have been been able to launch writer from the start center intermittently, but most of the time the start center is unresponsive.

Thanks Rog132. Hopefully a fix will be released soon.

I've always found that KDE integration of LibreOffice and OpenOffice to be pretty terrible. I'm always using LO's latest development versions, slightly hoping for noticeable improvements regarding KDE, but it never seems to happen.

Package libreoffice-kde is unmaintained for a long time. Instead you can use libreoffice-gtk. That way oxygen-gtk will kick in for theming and you will have much better looking LO with shadows, gradients etc.

Even LO devs under KDE use libgeoffice-gtk.

I removed libreoffice-kde and it worked fine (glad to have it back again ). Since the default style is messy installed libreoffice-gtk using the oxygen theme and now it looks awesome. This seems like the best route to go so far since libreoffice-kde has not been fixed yet.

I have tried libreoffice-gtk and libreoffice-gtk3 but I have found that I am happier without any of these including libreoffice-kde. I find that with gtk I get larger icons and also on movies I briefly see a question mark before the start of the movie. Without gtk, I get a short white flash. The attached screen shots show the difference that I get on my system. I prefer the more compact layout.

With the GTK version of Oxygen some of the widgets (combo boxes, drop down lists) are "truncated" at the bottom by... one pixel or so. There ain't no justice
