    Magnet links in Rekonq

I cant get magnet links working in Rekonq. When I click on a magnet link, I get this error message:

"rekonq does not know how to handle this protocol: magnet"

Magnet links work in other browsers. Anyway I can get them working?

I have the same issue. I just simply end up copying the link by right clicking the magnet icon and choosing "copy link address", then in KTorrent selecting "open URL"...

Perhaps you can file a bug over at bugs.kde.org. A simple search for "magnet" under the product "rekonq" did not yield any hits...

Vote it up so we can hopefully get it resolved.

Must be a regression then, because that was fixed 3.5 years ago: https://git.reviewboard.kde.org/r/100062/

Does it work if you switch the renderer from WebKit to KHTML?

Hmm it has worked for me just fine for some time, but using Qbitttorrent. I think I had this error previously in 13.10 with Ktorrent, but I don't use magnet links often, and they worked fine after installing Qbittorrent. I've upgraded to 14.04, and Rekonq does open magnet links using KT (after purging Qbt for testing)

Maybe magnet link capability got purged when they "improved" rekonq by stripping it of all its features a while back
