How to mark a thread <ABANDONED> ?

I'm no longer pursuing a solution to this problem. It used to be that one could edit the title of an initial post, but I cannot now find a way to do that. "Forum tools" only allows a <SOLVED> to be inserted into the post title.

What's the best solution to this?

There isn't an option to mark a thread abandoned. You can however, return to the first post in the thread, click Edit Post and then click the Go Advanced button to allow you to change the thread topic. You can add <ABANDONDED> that way.
