information message not understood: "Countdown is not running!"

I just upgraded the Kubuntu OS on my "backup" computer, to 13.10. Now, when running, I'm getting a constant loop of a message in the Notifications widget on the taskbar:

    INFORMATION Countdown is not running!
It's irritating and total non-informative. I have NO idea what it means or what I need to do.

Any assistance with this will be appreciated!

Sounds like an error from some program. What is running? Try killing apps until it goes away/

Excellent and reasonable tactic. Likely to lead me to the problem.

      Thanks!

UPDATE: For the sake of closing out this thread, here's what I think caused this. I have package "qshutdown" installed. It has an internal timer. While I can't confirm this, on a new OS install, I'd installed qshutdown and now believe that somehow I set it up wrong or only partially. It was trying to tell me that it couldn't function. Eventually I got it running. The message disappeared. I now use this timed-system-shutdown tool very day. It just works!
