    Can you give an example?

I've selected a pdf in my file manager

Then I go into the share menu

KDE connect is one of the options along with the usual sms, email, etc.

You then select the computer to send it to.

Files go to your Desktop folder.

Sent from my Droid DNA using Tapatalk, like that really matters

Thanks Claydoh. That makes the procedure clear. I do not have via KDE-Connect in the share options. I suspect it is not supported by my device/Android version.

It might not be, I have Android 4.2.2, and notifications sent to the phone from KDE are not supported unless one has 4.3 or higher.

OMG! computer popped a "low battery" notice for phone KDE connect

            OMG!!!! :0

I was sitting typing some stuff for class tomorrow and in the notification area a balloon popped that said the battery was low on the phone with a percentage and an icon! :0

I did NOTHING!!! I have not attempted to "enable" such a notice, and I have not configured any notices AT ALL!!!!

            IT IS NOT TETHERED!!!!

I DO NOT HAVE A BLUETOOTH DONGLE on the computer!!

I can only guess that possibly the phone notified the computer through the wireless router!! AND AUTOMAGICALLY!!! :0

            THIS IS ONE KEWL............and working....app!

My system specs and phone specs are in an earlier post.

            GREAT JOB KDE connect DEVS!!!

              Hello

Forgive me for offering this but an alternative option is http://web.airdroid.com/ some useful features here, alternative to kde-connect.

Nice app and similar to kde-connect but really quite different. KDE Connect is integrated into the DE while airdroid runs through a browser. This is a different philosophy and has a completely different feel.

Agreed, they definitely are two different animals at the moment. I definitely like having some notifications announced on my computer, and I have used the clipboard share, which is a rather nice, if perhaps not commonly used, feature.

KDE connect file transfer Android Phone

                    File Transfer KDEconnect KDE connect

When the Android phone is paired with the PC it will stay paired until the user unpairs.

                    a) Apparently battery power notifications are made at some kind of "interval" of how much power is available.

                    b) working from another room, approximately twenty feet away:

Android Phone / My Files / Device Storage / Gallery / top of screen share icon / Share via / KDE Connect / Share to ... / woodsmoke-desktop / (User taps "woodsmoke-desktop" ) / within a second the file is transferred to the "desktop" of the computer.
