    VLC Media Player 2.1.1

    Hello!
I want to install the new Version of VLC Media Player.
    My Host-system is Kubuntu 13.10 x64
On the Homepage of VLC is the Information that there is a new Version with Version Nr. 2.1.1 available for Ubuntu
How can I download/install this Version in Kubuntu?

I can install with Muon-Installer only the 2.0.8 Version but i am interested for the new features an bug-fixes in the new Version.

    Please help me.

    With the (K)ubuntu - http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-ubuntu.html :
    Nota Bene

Ubuntu includes whichever VLC version was the latest at the time the Ubuntu release was frozen (typically about two months before the official Ubuntu upgrade).
Afterward, you can still get security and critical bug fixes, but no further major VLC version updates until the next Ubuntu release.

I tried myself at past, the stable daily PPA, but it wasn't really stable so I removed it and stick to normal repositories.
If you want to try them, they are here: https://launchpad.net/~videolan/+archive/stable-daily
Personally I suggest, not to waste your time with them.

Have you tried using System Settings > Multimedia > Audio and Video Settings? This allows you to move your preferred Audio Playback, Audio Recording and Video Recording devices to top.
