Saw this done, how do I do it?

Hello everybody!New to the site, but not new to Linux. Been an off-and-on Linux user for some years now but I'm finally getting away from Windows entirely.

So a friend of mine was showing me the KDE desktop cube (sphere actually) on Kubuntu 13.10 and I was really impressed. I immediately downloaded and installed 13.10 and figured out how to set up the sphere. No questions there, got that figured out. Here's what I want to know how to do:

My friend had it somehow set up so that when he logged into his profile, different things would automatically pop up on each desktop. He had one desktop open up a Konsole session, he had another open up a Google Chrome session, he had another one automatically open up the system settings window, and yet another automatically open up a folder that had all of his music in it. There were several other desktops that also had various applications automatically start as well, but I didn't see what those were I only got to see what was on the "tour".

Does anybody know how to do this? Thank you for the info!

System Settings > Workspace Behavior > Virtual Desktops to setup the number of screens needed(4 or 6 ?) for the cube.

One way is to enable "Restore Manually Saved Session" in Session Manager. Then once you get your desktop(s) the way you want, save it. In theory, it will return to it previous state at every log in. I don't use the cube anymore, but it should work this way.
