Multiple windows open on startup all running the screen saver

This is bizarre. I've recently updated from 13.04 to 13.10. Every time I boot up and login to KDE a number of windows open, all running the screen saver (kclock). The number varies, sometimes it's 4, sometimes 8 or 9.

I'm running 64-bit Kubuntu on an Intel Core i5.

Not a big problem, as it doesn't take long to close the windows, but it's irritating all the same.

Thank you. I searched before posting, but obviously I wasn't looking for the right thing. The first thread refers to 13.04, but this only showed up for me after the upgrade. Strange.

Same here using ATI drivers. I just removed the screensaver packages and everything was OK.

It is a KDE bug and the KDE 4.11 is available for the Kubuntu 12.04 ... 13.10.

As a workaround for the screen shaver bugs - http://www.kubuntuforums.net/showthr...blankscrn-kss:

- Multiple screen saver windows appears after login: exclude the screen savers from session restore
- Multiple screen savers in memory: kill the older savers if there is more than one.
