notification indicator always busy/hangs when compressing

Compressing causes the 'busy' status shown in the notification icon never to complete, although the
compression (to zip in this case), was completed.
Also the stop button is cut off.
The above niggles do not occur when copying, only when compressing. In my case I compressed
a folder to another location.
