Spotty wireless connection with RTL8191SE Realtek driver

I recently installed 13.10 on my lappy and have been wrestling with wireless issues ever since. I am able to make a connection and use it for sometime and then it will just drop out.

What I have tried:

sudo modprobe rtl8192se swenc:1
upgrading the kernel to 3.13
defaulting iw reg set to US

Try the other module options to disable link power save, perhaps?

Thanks, I tried that but it did not seem to improve things. My buddy let me know that kernel 3.13.2 has a bunch of fixes for the rtlwifi drivers and my model specifically, so I am trying that and seeing how it goes. I will report back my findings later.

So I have had marginal success with the new kernel. My internet drops out much less frequently now. It seems to have a distinct pattern of happening at night. That makes me think it may have something to do with activity in the air. Is there someway I can check for that or get my router to broadcast on a non busy channel?

Try channels 1, 6, or 11. All the others have some overlap.
