Xorg runs at over 90% from bootup

I have had a problem for the last week with my Laptop running like a pig, at 1st I blamed Firefox & then Nvidia drivers but there appears to be a bug in KDE with a memory leak that causes xorg to max out the cpu. A google search says that Fedora & Arch Linux are having the same problem with KDE 4.11. I don't see any other Kubuntu users complaining, am I the only one with this problem in Kubuntu?

Are you testing each ISO as they get release or updating your current install. I rarely update from testing, but that shouldn't make that much difference. What kernel do you have.

I have nvidia 6150SE onboard graphics, and no noticeable memory leak. AMD dual-core 3gigmhz, 4 gig ram.

No just rolling updates, was a clean install about 4 weeks ago as I had the Oneric install that had been continuously upgraded to the latest beta. My working kernel is 3.11.0-3 I did try a 3.9 kernel but had the same problem. From what I'm reading it appears to be a xorg - KDE -Nvidia issue that is plaguing KDE installs at the moment

Was an "upgrade to xorg this morning & now I cant open anything, The cpu is now running at 101.5% WTF how is that possible

Ok found the problem Conky, once removed all back to normal. Now to find whether conky or xorg is responsible.

I've had issues with using Conky in the past myself. The system was very unresponsive, so I uninstalled it. There is a very active Conky topic at the ubuntu forums.
