    No nethack GUI anymore!

After a few years without playing I tried to install my favourite nethack interface (qt), just to see it missing.
Well there are more, I thought, but alas, not one graphical interface is working with kubuntu 13.04.
No qt, vulture, ebonhack, no nothing.

So is there a way to get nethack-qt working? Linux without nethack is not really linux.
Right now the only solution that comes to mind would be to install debian.

I have no knowledge of Nethack, but you might want to check out:

Oh, I should probably added that I have already downloaded the files separately, but they won't work because of unfullfilled dependancies. When I tried to work them out by hand I landed in dependancy hell. No way for me out of there without screwing up the whole system, someone of more refined linux skills is needed for this task.
Since nethack is somewhat popular I thought maybe one of you has already solved this problem and can give me some clues how to procede.

I likewise am saddened by the lack of nethack-qt in the kubuntu repositories.

The x11 and console interfaces are unusable for me.

On the other hand - nethack is a terrible time waster, maybe it's a good thing that it's missing.

          Testing quickly...

Abandon hope all ye who enter here...

          Qt

          http://nethackwiki.com/wiki/Qt :
NetHack offers an interface based on Qt, compatible with Qt through version 3. It is not compatible with Qt 4, which is the current version, nor with the forthcoming Qt 5...
Downloading from the Debian squeeze: nethack-qt: http://packages.debian.org/search?ke...ll&section=all

It is also available from the Ubuntu: http://packages.ubuntu.com/search?ke...ll&section=all

          Simulating:

          :~$ apt-get install -s nethack-qt

NOTE: This is only a simulation!
apt-get needs root privileges for real execution.
Keep also in mind that locking is deactivated,
so don't depend on the relevance to the real current situation!

I do not personally use Kubuntu, but I'm the tech support for my daughter who does.
