    vsftpd Authentication Failure

I have vsftp installed and configured the same way I always have. However when trying to log in it says my log in is incorect, when I know it's not. After some googleing I did see a suggestion to check /var/log/auth.log.

    Code:
May 10 20:49:50 xplorer4x4-gbz77 sudo: pam_unix(sudo:session): session opened for user root by xplorer4x4(uid=0)
May 10 20:49:50 xplorer4x4-gbz77 sudo: pam_unix(sudo:session): session closed for user root
May 10 20:52:40 xplorer4x4-gbz77 vsftpd: PAM audit_log_acct_message() failed: Operation not permitted
    Here's my vsftp.conf:
    http://pastebin.com/gDfCtJgE

I also checked /etc/pam.d/vsftpd.and compared it against my back up. They match exactly, so I cant figure out what has changed in raring to prevent vsftpd from working like before.

FWIW, I've used proFTPd because its configuration files have similar syntax to Apache. It's running on my Ubuntu 12.04 server without any problems, and authentication worked out-of-the-box (er, out-of-the-apt-get, haha). I haven't updated the server to Raring, and probably won't.

Well ProFTPd worked out of the so called box. I am not a fan of the apache style config(apache hates me for some reason, I try to be nice and ask it nicely, but it always turns its back on me in a bad way!!) but it does work. I have always stuck to vsftpd as it has always been nice and simple with minimal configuration needed. Plus I had problems getting proftpd to work a few years back, so I just never looked back. I am trying it out as we speak and it seems nice. While I don;t need the additional modules per say, who knows it might be worth using them.
