Ktorrent Widget Bi Annual Bug wah wah

Here is My Bi Annual bug notification as I have been doing for years.

    plasma-widget-ktorrent

Does not display the Text/Info correctly inside the widget nor does it resize to correct that problem. I have been posting this inside the Kubuntu forum and the Kde forum. No change. oh well.

It could be a bug in the them you're using. Does this occur with the default Air theme as well?

Anyway... What's the point of the widget? I always use KTorrent by itself. It ploaces an icon in the system try, which gives me some info. If I want to see more, I can open the Ktorrent main window. Simple enough.

As I said I am using the "Default Kubuntu Theme" and the way it loads by default with out anything going on it is already cropping the information/text of nothing happening. When it is resized it will show more of the text horizonallty but vertically it still crops it.

Kde developers say there is no bug. Kubuntu says its kde's problem.

ps. What is the point of any widget? To display information/Give control in a compact way.

There's a KTorrent plugin for the Cairo dock, so you could use that instead:
        http://www.glx-dock.org/mc_album.php?a=10

Simply drag&drop the link to the plugin onto your dock.

See this is where I don't understand the connection between this forum and the Kubuntu OS.

Does the developer/s from Kubuntu or KDE ever hear what is occurring with Kubuntu or are we a we just talking amongst ourselves/users with no feedback to the devs?

Because this has been going on for literally years.

Kde has its own forum: http://forum.kde.org/
I doubt the Kde devs read this forum.

Some of the ones who happen to use KDE via Kubuntu do. Though that would hardly be a majority, as a fair portion seem to run Gentoo, Arch, or Suse.

                Could you add info:

                - how to reproduce ?
                - are there multiple files to downloading/uploading ?

At here, the plasmoid seems to work.

                Before you edit, BACKUP !

Why there are dead links ?

It occurs while downloading single or multiple torrents. I'll post a screen cap tonight when I get a chance.

Don't know why mine is tarded. Has been for multiple versions of Kubuntu and I am not doing anything special.

First image is default torrent widget dropped onto desktop inactive.

Second image is resized inactive torrent widget.

Third image is resized widget active with single torrent.

Hey Rog what kind of video card/driver are you using? I wonder if plasma draws differently according to the display setup. Mine is a 1920 by 1200 lcd with an Nvidia 9800M GTS running the 313.3 driver.

The first one ( http://www.kubuntuforums.net/showthr...l=1#post328073 ) is with the AMD Radeon HD 6850 / AMD Catalyst 13.4 (propietary).

Testing with the Kubuntu 12.10 - AMD Radeon HD 6850/ Gallium 0.4 (open)

The plasma widget is a bit too small when dropped to the display ( BenQ GL2450 - 1920x1080) -

but it can be corrected with the plasmoid rescaling -

Maybe someone with the NVidia can check this ?

This would be really nice to finally figure out! Sounds like we are onto something.

Anyone else with an Nvidia card care to try the Ktorrent widget out?

I'm using Kubuntu 12.04, so I'm not sure if this applies. My video card is NVIDIA GeForce GT 610 (NVIDIA 304.88) with a screen resolution 1680 x 1050.

This is what I see before I rescale.

This is what I see after I rescale. The text does not resize.

Does system font settings have anything to do with this? All mine are set to Sans Sarif 9 with the exception of Fixed Width which is Monospace 9. Small and Toolbar are set to Sans Sarif 8.
