Problems with installing packages.

Let's clean out a bunch of APT-related stuff:

sudo rm -rfv /var/cache/apt/*

sudo rm -rfv /var/cache/apt-xapian-index/*

I just found out that there were some repos that I "migrated" from 12.10 that was causing the problem. I removed using the "Configure Software Sources"-->"Other Software", and now the problem is gone.

Ah, very cool that you got it sorted. I only use the command line for package management, and misconfigured repos offer self-explanatory error messages.
