Fresh Install - No kickoff menu or icons on the bottom right

Just did a fresh install of the 64-bit version. Everything (include sound) works, except I don't have the little "K" icon on the bottom left. On the bottom right I don't have the time, nor the various icons that usually reside there. Just see the default wallpaper. ALT-F2 works, so I was able to open up Konsole and get the updates.

    Did I miss something? Thanks!

Went to do the additional drivers update for my NVIDIA video card, and that also cratered. Decided to frag everything and install 12.10 instead, then upgrade. My notebook went to 13.04 from a 12.10 install, so maybe something is wrong with my 13.04 DVD.

Known issue. Solution is to "Unlock widgets" by right clicking the desktop or using the cashew (assuming widgets are currently locked). Then right click the cashew on the panel and select "Remove this panel." Then right click the desktop, select add panel and choose "Default panel."

A fix for this is being worked.
