AMD message overlay

I just installed 13.04, and it went beautifully, except for one minor thing. There is a dark, semi-transparent overlay in the bottom-right corner of my screen that says "AMD Unsupported hardware". This was not there this morning before I upgraded, and when I enter BIOS, I see no problems anywhere. This is only a visual annoyance. There is no context menu or command related to the overlay that I can detect, nor have I found any way to turn this display off.

Please let me know if you would like any further information.

New, clean installation (http://www.kubuntuforums.net/showthr...t-Installation) , no Jockey.

sudo apt-get install fglrx-updates fglrx-amdcccle-updates

sudo aticonfig --initial

Reboot => No watermarks.

Had the same problem. When you use jockey it offer drivers for both readon and fire gl cards I believe. You have the workstation/fire glad drivers. Load jockey and select the other driver. If you lack thumbnail support when hovering over taskbar entries pm me and I can post a solution here.

The AMD proprietary driver is unified; Radeon and FireGL use the same driver, formerly known as fglrx(*) (which stands for FireGL and Radeon for X).

(*) Recently AMD changed the name of the driver to Catalyst Linux.
