How to share files and folders between 2 Kubuntu 13.04 laptops

    Hi there
    I've installed openssh-server and filezilla.
What I would like to do is access files and folders on one of the laptops.
I'm not sure if I'm just not inputting required information wrong or something (this is the first time I'm attempting this).
When I do Dolphin -> Home -> Network -> Samba Shares -> Workgroup -> I see all the computers connected to our internet. But I cannot access any of them.

The way i have done it, and that works good, is to go to Dolphin -> Network-> Add New Network folder. Select Secure Shell (ssh) and in the dialogue box, give the folder a name, any name.
In the User box, fill in the name of a user of the remote pc. In the Server box fill in the IP address of the remote pc. You get the address by typing "ifconfig" in a console of the remote pc.
Assuming you will connect wireless, use the wlan0 inet addr, something like 192.168.0.xx. The Port should be 22, protocol sftp. For the Folder, type in the folder name you want to connect to, say /home/shared, and thats all really. You must have the openssh server installed on the remote pc as well. When you first try to connect, you will be asked to accept a key. just say yes. That key is stored in /home/.ssh. Good luck

thank you so much. I am connected and can now transfer files successfully. Just a correction on Folder Name, it should be home/(username)/Folder.

It's super easy now and my husband (a total Windows fan) has been forced to eat his words!! He's already the only one using Windows in the house. Our daughter (6yo) and myself are hardcore Kubuntu fanatics
