see my signature for details of my setup...
I'm trying to run screensavers and I keep getting this:
OpenGL Warning: Failed to connect to host. Make sure 3D acceleration is enabled for this VM.
libGL error: failed to load driver: vboxvideo
libGL error: Try again with LIBGL_DEBUG=verbose for more details.
I found a forum post saying you can use glxinfo | grep direct to find out if 3d acceleration is enabled (if it says 'direct rendering: yes' then it is.)
Well I tried that and this was the output - same error:
OpenGL Warning: Failed to connect to host. Make sure 3D acceleration is enabled for this VM.
libGL error: failed to load driver: vboxvideo
libGL error: Try again with LIBGL_DEBUG=verbose for more details.
direct rendering: Yes
In my virtualbox acceleration settings everything is enabled. vbox guest additions are installed and they must be working, because after I installed them a heap of desktop effects suddenly came into action (although I still haven't managed to get the desktop cube thing.)
WHAT is going on here?
(I hope this is the right place to post this...)
