I'm wondering if this bug is still present in Kubuntu 13.04? I've had this bug on both 12.04 and 12.10.

Yes, there are times when it is just best to change tools. I still like Synaptic better as well, and I install the gnome dependencies I need so that I can use it.

I use gdebi as well, by the way.
