    Battery Life Horrible On Rarring?

I have been running rarring on my netbook and lately my battery life is horrible it will be charged 100% and then a little while later (maybe 1/2 hour at most) my battery is down around 7% and its yelling at me to charge it. btw this is a 12 Cell battery i usually get at least 4 hours out of it. it is a slightly older battery but from my experance they usually don't charge to 100% as they are dying. i was mainly wondering if anyone else has noticed this behavor or if its just my battery dying.

    Hit us with:

    Code:
    cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/info
    cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_available_governors
    cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_governor
Please remember batteries decay over both time and charge cycles. Its possible your battery is just getting to the end of its life. There are ways of lengthening their life span but nothing is really any good. Batteries are and will be the biggest handicap to mobile computing for the forseeable future.

Other issues could be GPU and Driver combination. A possible regression in the kernel. Poor power configuration. Some process chewing up your cpu. Maybe install powertop and mess around with it a bit! Give us some information about your system.

Check nothing is hogging your CPU - akonadi or virtuoso_t are chronic culprits

I have been having problems with the battery on a relatively new ASUS R501V. I "fix" the problem by unplugging the battery and re-plugging it in again. For example I see 0V on the battery and it is "connected". After I re-plug the battery it shows that it is say 96% charged! My impression is that the Battery Monitor has a bug in it. I have checked for Battery Monitor bugs but they seem to be all "SOLVED". If this problem is not resolved this week I hope to find time to submit a bug report next week.

I will be interested to know if your problems are resolved by unplugging your battery and then plugging it in again.
