    So...howabout Plasma Active on a Nexus 7?

Google and other listings are so junked up with older (re: around the time of UDS) posts about people briefly trying to run Plasma Active on an Ubuntu install on the Nexus 7. Well, I have a spare one here myself (the glass is cracked in one corner, so no touch input there except sometimes it seems to think I'm having a seizure; in other words, bad for daily use, fine for potentially bricking!). So, is anyone testing it right around now? What's the current state of affairs?

I'm literally downloading an Ubuntu image for flashing right now, but I'd be very interested to hear about others' experiences before I dive in and needlessly replicate mistakes or known issues.

No idea I'm afraid, but I'll watch your reports with much interest

Alas, it's a moot point for now as I finally got around to digging out my cracked Nexus 7 and trying to power it up, but it seems to have slid further down the paperweight scale. Now when I plug it in to power it up, the backlight flashes on and off sporadically, but otherwise I can't make it do anything. So I guess I need to get around to trying Google support sometime and asking them who I should call to get it fixed, and how much it'll cost.

Edit: after 7 years on this forum I finally crawl up to 300 posts, woo! Heh.
