That's a beta build of Firefox, expect such issues. Firefox is still only version 18 at the moment.

Does the problem occur on specific sites? Also, have you tried running with add-ons disabled?

I experience this hanging, too, and Thunderbird frequently hangs around the same time, as well (not always though).
I'm also running Firefox 19.0 (no suffix on the version that I can discover). 64bit in case it matters.

Problem tends to be after FF/TB have been idle for a while. Never locked up on me while I'm working with them actively.
I will try to disable addons and see if that has an effect, but the problem is quite unpredictable at this time.

I'm also seeing Thunderbird hanging after long periods of just running in the background. I'm seeing this on both a desktop which is always switched on and a laptop which sees just a couple of hours use each day but will have Thunderbird just checking for email. I don't know about Firefox as I seldom use it but like walrus has found Thunderbird never locks up while I'm using it.

For what it's worth, I didn't see this problem when I was using Kubuntu 12.10 and I don't see it while I am using Ubuntu 12.04 or Lubuntu 12.10 on other PCs.

Both Firefox and Thunderbird have been updated recently but the problem persists. It would be nice if this bug was fixed in next week's KDE update.

A bug report can be found at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...rd/+bug/963736.
