Before LibreOffice 4.0 beta2 became available from the repositories, I downloaded it from the LibreOffice site,
and installed it. With this downloaded file I found that an Impress file with mp4 files in it showed no video but did play the associated sound.
I removed the above version from the LibreOffice site and used the version from the repositories. For this version, the Impress file played neither the video or the associated sound. It also took considerably longer to load the file.
I was hoping for a better result. But until this problem is resolved, I will not install Kubuntu 13.04 raring on my main system which I use for presentations.
