Hi,
I am testing kubuntu raring release.
I have a system that uses FakeRaid. My boot and root partitions are on that same FakeRaid array.
Upon boot of the liveDVD, and installing, the array is detected properly.
After installation, it cannot detect my FakeRaid array. The installed kernel and initrd img does not support dmraid.
I replaced the installed kernel and initrd img with the ones from the liveDVD, and it booted successfully with those.
Why is FakeRaid support removed from the installed kernel ? Can it be included on future releases ?
Also, the installer has a ?tendency? to install grub into /dev/sda , which results on a crash , because my /dev/sda is part of a FakeRaid array. After making /dev/sda a symbolic link to the proper device and retrying , it manages to install grub into the right drive.
Thanks.
