installing libgtk1.2

i have problem with installing libgtk1.2.

when i type this code in terminal i get these messages and then nthing happens

sudo apt-get install libgtk1.2

Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
E: Unable to locate package libgtk1.2
E: Couldn't find any package by regex 'libgtk1.2'

can anyone help me with this plz ?!

Unless you're running Hardy, that's not going to work. Try libgtk2.0

If you run into this sort of thing again, it's useful to open Muon and type the package or file name in the search bar leaving out the version number. You might just locate what you're looking for.

Your source is set at the install medium rather than an internet repository. Check your Sources and update with Muon.
