Hi all,
From scratch Kubuntu 12.10 was working pretty fine but didn't have screen brightness management working (on my dell e6420 at least), so I tried a few things to make it work and ended up breaking everything, as expected
I tried installing the proprietary drivers, got a black screen (wtf there but anyway), went to debug mode to deactivate them, went back to normal mode, my fonts got screwed somehow, everything was bigger than before installing the drivers, tried resetting them to default, no change so I deleted ~/.config (well, moved it somewhere else) to see if that would reset things completely. And now, I have no more real graphic card driver used at all, my screen is detected as a 1024*768 though it's a 1600x900.
All that just because I wanted to fix the damn brightness, sigh...
Any idea how to reset that? I can reinstall everything as long as it doesn't screw with my datas
Thanks!
Edit:Oops, this should go to Hardware I guess
