Unable to shutdown system from KMenu

Hi All,

On my Kubuntu 12.10 I'm unable to shutdown the system from KMenu. After pressing Shut Down from menu the gray screen shows up, there is a sound of my hard drive going into idle but the computer does not turn off.
On the other hand from console: sudo shutdown -P now works fine.
Any ideas?

Maybe you're suffering from the bug (https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/987220), a very tedious one. Proprietary graphic driver (Nvidia, AMD), lightdm or Bios can be the cause. Please subscribe the bug and stay tuned.
