Windows Media stream from Firefox?

There is a website (http://www.jctv.org/flashindex.php) that allows you to play their channel streaming over the internet. The problem is the only format it's available in is Windows Media Player. My copy of Firefox (v 17.0.1) didn't know what to do, and couldn't find a suitable plugin.

I tried a couple (to include the VLC plug in), to no avail.

Also tried the site in Rekonq, with no success.

Any suggestions or plug ins that you know of that would get this to work? I know one solution is to fire up a windows machine in VM, but I'd rather try to play it from within Kubuntu.

when I try to watch it firefox tryes to open it with the VLC plugin ,,,,, but xorg starts freeking out using 80-90% CPU ......?

Search add-ons for "WMA" The add-on name is called "mediaplayerconnectivity"

Robtygart - no go. I do get a black screen with a little icon in the middle. When I click on it, a clock icon spins for a bit, then disappears.

When I use it, it will open my VLC player.

Nothing happens when I try it.

Maybe because I am an atheist though.

Problem solved. Live streaming JCTV right there for you.

Hey, that works! Opened up VLC and was able to watch it. Thanks for posting the fix...
