    Firefox saved passwords

Dose anyone know off hand where Firefox stores it's saved passwords ?

what I want to do is copy the file from my 12.04 install into my 12.10 install like I imported the bookmarks ..........kinda

I know I know , I can view the passwords in the 12.04's Firefox and right them down and then reenter them fresh hear (12.10) but I was hoping for a laze man's way ....

Guess I'l just go with the copy them down and reenter them as I need to approach .......I dont want to just move the .Mozilla folder over and change my setup and the /home/vinny/.mozilla/firefox/wiv7xz7a.default/key3.db dose not do it by it's self .....in fact moving in just that blanked out my saved passwords .

I ran across this a while back. Easy back up and restore. I've used it once when I started a new FF profile. https://github.com/fligtar/password-exporter/wiki

My approach to this is simple. I simply copy the entire .mozilla directory from one distro to the other. Do this before your open FF for the first time on the new distro. That way you get all of your saved settings, extensions, bookmarks and passwords. I also use LastPass and Xmarks to maintain my passwords and bookmarks. I do the same thing with Thunderbird.
