I noticed I have language packs in Add-ons for the heading, 'Language.' However, they are both version 16.0.1 and it displays '... is incompatible with Firefox 17.'
I might as well remove them both. One is English Language Pack and the other is South African Language Pack. They're both disabled and wouldn't work anyway. I was wondering why they're there.
I think Firefox got upgraded when I installed as I had 'install updates' checked when doing the install. Does that sound right? I think the default FF version for Quantal 12.10 is ver. 16?
Anyway, it's not a big deal but I think whenever I update, it will show the Language Packs always 'failing.' I thought to remove them and if I ever need new ones, they would be up to date and be compatible with Firefox 17. But, they are not uninstallable or removable. I read this on the mozilla site:
"If there isn't a Remove button on the Tools > Add-ons > Languages page then that means that the language packs are installed globally and can not be removed via the Firefox user interface.
You can check your software management to see if you can remove them there.
Otherwise you can try to ask on the Ubuntu forum for assistance."
So, I did google this issue. But, I'm not sure of the solution so I'm asking. Any ideas? I'm used to Synaptic so the Muon utility doesn't seem to show where to uninstall any language pack.
I have no clue what to do or how to proceed. Maybe this is an easy process but hopefully someone can point the way. Help?
Edit: I found where to upgrade the EN language pack so I chose that for now. The South African one also upgraded. Weird. I couldn't find it in the Muon Package Manager list, though.
