    Thunderbird

Unable to open links in above. I get the window telling me I need to use another application to perform this action and to choose which one. The box is empty, nothing to choose from. I seem to recall I also had this problem in an earlier version of Kubuntu and eventualy moved away from Kubuntu. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Well ok then. I have changed to Kmail which does open the links contained in the emails.

You can set it in Thunderbird:
          http://kb.mozillazine.org/Default_br...erbird_-_Linux

Additionally in the system settings you can specify standard applications like in this case which browser to use.
