font issue in Firefox

Weird little problem here, fonts showing as just lines or not showing at all..

happens only in Firefox now, saw it in Opera too. Have gone over font installation and now it seems to work fine
on Opera, Chrome and Rekonq.

The unreadable/missing text can be pasted into and read in LO Writer.

Check system settings -appearance- fonts - anti aliasing configure. Make sure exclude range is not check marked.

Thanks. Had a little trouble finding that setting, my menus are in Norwegian.
It's not checked. Well, I don't have to use Firefox and I guess this can be fixed.

Must be a sort of gtk issue. Installed Catfish which did not even start as gnome deps were not installed.
GIMP starts with rectangles instead of fonts..

(.... Dillo crashes on attempting to open a web page.. So this is the world of 'unstable' Linux versions - I was using Kanotix which is based on Debian Squeeze before, KDE 4.6)

Installed Xubuntu 12.04 for now. I actually like KDE4 but can try this. The app I wanted right now was Krita and the kde 4.8 version has the
templates I need. Xubuntu also has some bugs but minor, update/software center crashes(deleted them), synaptic segfaults.

Otherwise this is a good forum.
