Dolphin music preview

I loved the Dolphin music/video preview from the same instant I discovered it ( 2 days ago)

Just guessing...is there a way to make it play the files completely instead of a short preview?

I'm gonna make a guess that it is a setting in ffmpeg which is what produces the "thumbnail image". I searched around and can't find an obvious file on my setup, an updated Quantal, so if somebody can give the pathway it could probably be changed in the script for ffmpeg.

Dolphin file manager

Information panel

The info panel is showing the information and showing the play button of the selected file /1/.

...This panel displays a preview or an icon of the currently selected file/folder or of the file/folder below the mouse cursor...

If you move the cursor to the another file the play will be stopped.




(Experimental) KLook

The Klook /2/ (with the patched Dolphin) can play the selected audio file when the space bar is pressed.




Preview Images

The KDE can /3/:

Using the class KIO::PreviewJob allows you to generate small images (thumbnails) for any kind of file, where a "ThumbCreator" is available...

and the KDE can show them if you want to /4/.

There are available thumb creator for the audiofiles /5, 6/

Plugin for KDE file managers (Dolphin and Konqueror) to preview cover arts
embedded in Audio (MP3, FLAC, M4A, OGG) file tags as Thumbnails.

Oh, the AudioThumbs thingy looks nice. If someone files a needs-packaging bug and assigns me to it then it might get included in repositories at some point.
