The GIMP and language

Hello.

My first language is Spanish, and even choising spanish as the prefered language, The GIMP image manipulation program still appears in English. This didn't happened on other distros or DE's. I don't now if this is because my country is Canada, but it's impossible. On other distros the location was Québec, Canada and GIMP appeared in Spanish

This is on KDE.

Any solution? reinstall didn't worked. Neither changing the country to Spain or Colombia worked.

Gimps localization files reside in gnome language packs which aren't installed by default on kubuntu, if you want spanish gimp, install 'language-pack-gnome-es-base':

sudo apt-get install language-pack-gnome-es-base
