    I hate KDE 4 & really hate 12.10

This really pisses me off big time.

When KDE 4 came out I was one of the first to embrace it. It was like embracing a wild tiger.
It never quite did what you wanted it to do and I was writing here daily.
Looking for and or giving advice.

Now with KDE4.9.x I have nothing more to do but work. No issues, no pain! Just fun.

The same goes for Kubuntu 12.10.
12.04 was very good but this is so much snappier and stable.

    Again nothing to complain about.

    4 GB Ram
    Kubuntu 18.10

I read your title and actually had a flash of rage. Glad it wasn't what I expected.

The new kernel and KDE 4.93 from the kubuntu ppa makes it the best DE around, if anyone doesn't like Unity, you gain Ubuntu's polished app with KDE's finest offering in a perfect combo.

LOL, we all got tricked into reading this thread by the faux-troll title

Reminds me of my mother. She used to complain about not having anything to worry about.

Heh, in a similar vein, I've often said of my mother (semi-jokingly) that she's not really happy unless she has something to complain about...

Why didn't I have Kubuntu PPAs in my list?

                    Weird.

We have a special no-Spadge flag in the PPA installer.

Actually, since you wrote "didn't," can I presume you found out how to add them? If not, then:
                      Code:
                      sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kubuntu-ppa/ppa
                      sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kubuntu-ppa/backports

I thought this was included by default - is this a recent change or do I need to upgrade my own "ram" ? As far as I can remember I have usually got (see) the KDE upgrades before they are posted as news on the website.

yeah! KDE 4.9 suxx ...can't wait for the crashing menace and puzzling features of KDE 5!!

Kubuntu PPAs are never added by default, as that's against "recognized flavor" requirements. Packages that arrive in -updates eventually make their way into Universe. The PPA allows us to get them sooner.
