    KDE 4.10 final release date/time?

Just curious if anyone involved in packaging 4.10 final knows when it might be ready, since 4.10 was just released today. I'm running 4.10 RC3 but there are various bugs I hope are squashed in final.

when it is packaged and built , so should be soon.

From the looks of it, it is already in the kubuntu-backports ppa, or at least the parts that have finished compiling.

Not in the backports yet, since doing an update/upgrade does nothing here. I'll be patient.

Except for some minor artifacts such as borders on some windows, I have had not a single problem.

Could you expand please? I've had experiences in the past where a backports update like this would remove crucial packages like plasma-desktop that I'd have to install via a recovery prompt using wired ethernet for a connection. Tell me this hasn't happened to you.

If you find that your CPU is being spiked and temps go up a lot, disable Nepomuk Desktop File Indexer (and maybe Email Indexing). There is a bug report against Nepomuk in KDE 4.10 because of recursive indexing. It's confirmed and being fixed. See Bug 312113 - nepomuk 4.9.95 gets stuck on recursive directory structures and uses 100% cpu
