    ctrl + shift + U

    For some reason, this doesn't work within my environment. Kate, terminal, textareas...
    I just can't output any unicode/alternative character.. although language switching, etc, works ok.

    What's the trick about this? I know it's something simple, but .. what that might be?

    ps: if this thread doesn't belong here, my apollogies.

    but not in a terminal or kate,,,,,,but haven’t tried to look in kate for a setting to make that work.

      Yes, it works now. I figured out the trouble I had.. I've messed up some things by my self within >> /etc/X11/xinit/xinput.d/xim (tried to setup some persistent configuration earlier today) ... few seconds ago, reverted back to default there .. I've been followed this one >> http://userbase.kde.org/ComposeKey

          In Kate, it works.. but.. not the usual way..
          I need to press F7 than by type : char 10194 ... or any other valid combination.

          A little bit .. unusual, but I will get used to this, as Kate just looks lovely.
